So I went to Australia this weekend........

Ha, I wish.

But I did get to see some kangaroos. And not the grouchy ones that live at Zoo Atlanta either. There's a place in Dawsonville, Georgia called the Kangaroo Conservation Center. It's pretty bad-ass, if you like cute animals with pouches. Boyfriend and I made the drive up from Atlanta, it should have only been an hour, but I left my cell phone.. so it was more like an hour and a half.

They let you wander around their "Outback" on your own, and then there's a few cute little shows where the kangaroos and sugar gliders and wallabees all do some showing off. One little kangaroo, Olivia, would just lay by the fence wanting you to scratch her back all day. There was one huge kangaroo named Jet, I think they said he weighs like two hundred pounds? Or will? Yeah, he's a big guy.

Weird things I learned: Kangaroos are totally racist. They only want to mate with their own colored fellow kangaroos. Eastern Grey ones, only want to bang fellow Eastern Greys. Red Kangaroos, yep they want some hot Red Kanga action. And there's usually only one male let into the female "mob" at a time, so that dude is the one getting alllllllllllll the action. Oh, and Kangaroos have their own toe for grooming. I still don't understand why they stare you down though.

Pics or it didn't happen!

Cute little bird.. already forgot your name.. it's a Kookaburra though.

Hard to tell but that big belly bulge is holding a baby joey.

WHAT IS WITH THE STARING

They all do that..
